Awakening takes place at the beginning of each year and we want to invite you, as a pastor and your church or ministry to make plans now to participate.

The goal of Awakening is three-fold:

  • Inspire pastors and church leaders all around the world to establish or strengthen a culture of prayer and fasting in their local church or ministry.
  • Equip pastors and church leaders with resources and tools that can help facilitate a successful season of prayer and fasting in their church or ministry.
  • Pray and fast together at the onset of the year, to position our churches and leadership for maximum effectiveness in the coming year.

If you have a desire to establish a culture of prayer and fasting in your church, this is a great way to do it. Awake21.org was created to provide you with tips, tools and resources that will help you have a successful season of prayer and fasting in your church or ministry.

As a registered pastor or church leader, you will have access to a variety of free resources to choose from. Some of these will include:

AWAKENING 2010 Posts:


3 Day Fast – January 28 to January 30, 2010


What an incredible month. We trust you’ve been blessed by this powerful experience as we’ve been praying, fasting and seeking God together. 2010 has so much in store, and it will be our best year ever as we continue to make it our best year spiritually.

As we approach the end of the fast, it is so important that we stay true to whatever commitment we made for this season and finish strong. As such, Awakening ends with a special 3 day fast Thursday, January 28th through Saturday, January 30th. Whatever level of participation you’ve had in this season of prayer and fasting, we encourage you to consider “taking it up a notch” and finishing with an even stronger intensity of seeking God.

Let’s continue to pray for each other and lift up all the pastors, churches, ministries and believers all around the world participating in Awakening. Several pastors and churches will be hosting special nights of prayer and worship throughout these next three days, and we’re believing incredible things are going to happen!

Let’s also take this opportunity to come together and pray for all the initiatives, conferences and campaigns that will be taking place to advance the kingdom of God this year. Listed below are just a few that continue to make huge impact:

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue setting aside days or seasons to pray, fast and seek God throughout the year.  A great way to do this is to choose one day a week (such as Wednesdays) to pray and fast, or do a 3 day fast once a quarter.  Choose whatever works best for your church or ministry – but together, let’s keep prayer and fasting a regular part of our church, ministry and leadership cultures.

3 ways you can get involved immediately with the relief efforts.


As many of you know, Tuesday January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 earthquake.  This earthquake is the largest disaster in the western hemisphere in the last 200 years.  Most of Port-Au-Prince (the capitol city of Haiti) was destroyed, and there has been tremendous loss of life and property throughout the entire country.  The magnitude of destruction is still unfolding but we can be sure of this – this is a time when the body of Christ has an opportunity to stand up and engage a need by shining the light of hope and the love of Jesus in Haiti.  As such, we are calling the nearly 1000 churches participating in Awakening to please focus your prayer and fasting efforts to the people of Haiti.  Click here for an example of three ways you can get involved immediately in the relief efforts.

Night of Prayer Recap:

This past Monday night, January 18th, we hosted a LIVE webcast Night of Prayer. The service was hosted by one of our Awakening participating churches: Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA led by Pastor Dino Rizzo. The response was incredible as several of the pastors, churches and ministries participating in Awakening joined us. If you haven’t yet, we encourage you to open the doors of your church or ministry and invite the people in your church and community to come and pray for the people of Haiti. The people and nation of Haiti need our continued prayers and support. Let’s continue to lift up those affected by the devastation; pray for those responding to the need and pray about how God would have you get involved.

 

 Still Time To Participate in the fast!

Awakening is a season of prayer and fasting and it’s intentionally designed to be flexible.  Many pastors, churches and ministries are still registering and will be fasting once a week, or twice a week and then ending in a 3 day fast.  Some will be fasting the entire last week.  Whatever level you choose to participate, don’t miss out on this incredible experience.  Register today – we’d love for you to join us and the several other hundreds of pastors, churches and ministries all around the world as we start this year off spiritually strong, praying and fasting together.
