Awakening 2009 was incredible.  Over 300,000 people from all across the nation and around the world participated in some way.  Hundreds of prayer requests came in to the awake21.org website and here are just a few of the several testimonies we received of how God answered those prayers:

After giving my life to Christ on Christmas Eve, I heard about the 21 day fast starting in January. I wanted to try it because I needed all the help I could get. I started the fast asking God for help in 4 areas of my life: 1) healing from a hurtful past relationship, 2.) the salvation of the person that hurt me; 3.) new Christian friends and 4.) for a new job because mine was leaving me lonely and depressed. As a result of this fast, God answered all these prayers and gave me so much more than I even asked for!

Jeff writes:
My marriage was in the process of a divorce and custody fight. We had one last appointment with a Christian counselor on Monday. In the waiting room prior to the appointment, we nearly came to blows, screaming & yelling with tears flying. Our marriage went thru 21 years of pain due to an affair my wife had soon after we married. I blamed her and wanted her to “fix it”. As a result of the season of prayer and fasting, my daughter was lead to intercede for our marriage on the morning of our last appointment. She prayed that God would reveal the root of this problem to us. In the counseling session, still pointing fingers at my wife I received a revelation. The problem was not my wife at all. It was me. I had held captive to the idea that my wife owed me something. I tried to keep her in prison with the unforgiveness, anger, bitterness, and fear that had gripped me for over 20 years. I thought the worst in every situation about my wife. I am here to say that God give me a miracle and totally changed my heart about “Who was really at fault”. It’s unexplainable how liberation the truth is. I am making a effort to show my wife the new and improved me. Totally not the way I wanted God to fix my marriage but God took the time to fix it right.

My kids have decided to join us in fasting….they have decided to follow the kids fasting calendar that they got at church. Now instead of watching tv, we are listening to worship music, reading scripture, and spending time together. I am so excited to have this opportunity to teach my kids how to get to know God. My oldest is leading the way, she is only 6!

Kaluba writes:
God has indeed worked and answered my prayers. My family testified at home in our devotions that they all have felt closer to God than they have felt before. We are enjoying our family devotions too. My son who had been rebelling is now standing up and testifying and sharing with the young people that God should be the one in control of our lives not anybody or anything else. We can actually see the change in him. I know for sure my life and my family’s life will never be the same again.

Tony writes:
I am so focused on the Lord, I’m feeling an inner peace within myself like NEVER before in my life, Praise God!

Rob writes:
This is just what I needed to get re focused and heading back on track. My prayers are coming back to life in strength and my time with the Lord becoming deeper. My heart is once again responding.

Sherry writes:
My daughter, who is 11 years old, decided to participate in the fast with me for all 21 days. She is doing great, and this morning she was up before me reading her Bible. She is even logging in everyday to read the latest blog. I asked her to make a list of what she would be praying for during this time, and I shared my list with her. Now we are both praying in agreement everyday over our list. I am VERY excited to see God speaking to her heart.
